YOGA AT HEATHERSIDE

Join us for a well balanced yoga practice! Each class includes some gentle but dynamic movements to mobilize the whole body - preparing the joints and increasing circulation in the muscles, as well as enhancing the general mobility, strength and concentration. The dynamic portion of the practice is followed by static yoga poses with longer holds, so the muscles can release tension and help you improve your flexibility and resilience. Finishing the class with a calming and soothing relaxation and/or guided meditation.
You can expect a relaxed teaching style with some encouragement. Mix abilities are welcome!
Due to Covid restrictions you will need to book this class in advance to secure your space.
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga as exercise, incorporating principles of traditional Chinese medicine, with asanas (positions) that are held for longer periods of time than in other styles. It works with the convective tissues through the healthy loads - passive stretches and compressions, with a little help of gravity. We use a lot of cushions/ blankets for support. 60 minutes of very soothing, relaxing work preparing your body (and mind) for the last 15 minutes of guided meditation.

YOGA FOR BEGINNERS
12 in-person classes
This is a course I teach online for Surrey Adult Learning. It is designed for those with no prior experience of Yoga, also as a refresher for those wishing to return to Yoga practice. You will learn a range of yoga postures (asanas) in standing, seated and lying positions, and how they work in sequence. You will also learn breathing exercises (pranayama) and relaxation techniques.

MEDITATION FOR BEGINNERS COURSE

£65 for the course
I will walk you through various meditation techniques leaving you complete freedom to choose what suits you most. Each lesson consists of three parts - a brief lecture, discussion and practice. After the lesson you will receive a script of the meditation practice to encourage you to do personal practice at home. We will work in a small group, with the ongoing support guaranteed.
6 sessions, 45 minutes each, but please reserve additional 15 minutes for Q&A.
